My cats absolutely love their new tree! The hammocks are a hit in this household. I have been eyeing this tree for 2 years and finally purchased. Shipping was super quick! The tree came in three boxes (much appreciated) so it was easier to tote inside and organize. The tree itself is wonderful. Quick and easy install. The materials are solid! I stood on a platform myself to test durability while deconstructed --and it heald beautifully, this says alot because I am not small by any means. I have always purchased cheaper trees from "big store brands" and my main issues were always the hideaways and hammocks being too small, and the sturdiness. I have 1 largely overweight kitty, one nomal and the other mid-weight. Sometimes they like to run and jump others they will just jump. The baskets are large and accommodates my 17 lbs boy (the brown/black kitty). He is the main reason why a heavy duty tree is needed. Hammocks are insanely deep compared to a typical "store" tree they are still able to enter and exit with ease. He gets in without reluctance. My cats are generally weary of things that don't have "solid grounding" like hammocks, but they took to this almost immedately. When my boy steps or jumps onto the platform or hammock no creaking noises, tree movement or signs of weakness are present. Baskets can pivot a bit, you can move them in more or out. Platforms are spacious. My girl (white multicolored) likes to perch most on the second tier. My smallest girl (all black) has used the hideaway at the bottom twice, but they seem to like the main parts tree better. Scratching posts are thick width wise, and tall!! and are durable. Decent sizing for an apartment (height wise). It is much wider, and uses more space than my former tree but i appreciate that. A few additions that would make this tree better is an option to add a step -- to help seniors get to the top of the tree. My boy is a younger senior and may have a touch of arthritis, he hasn't tried to go to the top nor I am sure if he is able to. I would also like it if the hideaway at the bottom was larger. It is bigger than most competitor's versions though. I do like that theres space inbetween the roof of the hide away and the first tier -- useful should the cats want to utilize that space to chill also. Would also like to see more padding on the rim of the hammocks. Depending on how my boy is laying his face rests there. I have remedied this by adding a washcloth or something of the sort between to provide extra comfort. 100% worth the money, I will continue to shop here for any other cat tree needs.
